Renovations & Extensions
At Ultimate Finish Carpentry we consider ourselves very good problem solvers and have alot of experience in all sorts of renovations & extensions. There for will be able to make any sort of renovation happen. From past experience we know that some renovations can be abit tricky to achieve what customer wants, but we love a challenge & with abit of thought put into it could achieve anything and make any home owner happy. Here are a few renos that we've recently completed.
Hampton Floor Reno
This reno involved ripping up all floor and subfloor due to severe termite damage over time in kitchen, laundry & toilet areas.

Customer wanted to keep the kitchen so everything had to be carefully removed and all benches re supported while new joists & flooring went in.

The job was finished off by
getting floating floor layed to brighten up the room. All work was completed just by Svyat on this job and finished in 3 days with a flawless finish.
Glen Waverley Rebuild
This was an interesting insurance rebuild job after a drunk driver slammed into the front of a house damaging the wall & windows.

All finished from our side with 100mm thick foam cladding, plastered on the inside and windows in. Now its the renders turn to finish it off with a coat of acrylic colour

In this reno / extension we sub contracted out to ZDConstruction and worked with their team to get it over the line

This job was ran by ZDC with Svyat being the main carpenter on site, the renovation included a double storey extension with a deck & few alterations in the existing area

Kitchen & Floor Reno
Scope of works on this one was to replace the existing dated kitchen with a more modern & practical design and to refloor the whole house in laminate flooring.

Laminate flooring laid over the top of tiles ( with any uneven tile chipped back and grouted flush ) with all the skirting boards replaced has finished the reno off nicely.
Phillip Island Reno
This renovation set a record time worked in consecutive days for Svyat working solo on this job, this one took 3.5 days to complete racking up 45h worked in the first 3 days, with a few hours of clean up on the 4th, all done few days before Christmas in 38 degree heat!

This job involved removing existing cladding off the second floor, insulating back and side wall, and recladding in new cement sheet weatherboards. Being 1.5 hour drive from our usual operating area Svyat had the permission to stay at the house while working there, allowing him to maximize the time worked on the job each day.

Svyat only had a few days to complete the job as it was the owners beach house and they were planning on celebrating Christmas there, starting the job less then a week before Christmas he was up to the challenge & pulled off a Christmas miracle finishing the job with just 2 days to spare.

This smaller scale job involved transforming old nonregulation concrete stairs into a modern merbau decking entry stairs with a landing

Adding a landing in for more room & ease of access has allowed us to build straight over the top of the existing stairs, saving time and money for the client in jackhammering and demolition fees.

This job was finished off with merbau decking and a stainless steel wire balustrade on our end & the owner finished it off with some paint to match the surrounding colours of the place.

Termite Damage Repairs
We got a call up about water damaged shower repair...Upon inspection we found out that its infact termite damage and there are active termites in there so were forced to open up a whole lot more of the wall and floor then originally was planned by the owner.

As a result we had to open up a fair bit of the area to expose all termite damaged area, call in pest controller to treat it all for termites, then cut out all the damaged areas & replace making as minimal impact on external cladding as possible to keep the costs of repairs down.

The job was finished off by the tiler after we have put it all back together and got it ready for them, and then we returned to reinstall the shower screen, tapware & caulk it all up

Room Extension
This reno was a fun and tricky one, it involved a lot of precision measuring and cutting to get the colourbond cladding to fit up millimetre perfect around all the rafters and battens

This one has definitely tested our ability on accuracy and picked our brains a bit on how to get around the rafters, but we came through with a flawless finish once again
